11 Market St Apartments

This project marked the start of L.D. Russo’s long term partnership with the YWCA of Greater Newburyport. The YWCA acquired this propterty during Newburyport’s first years of rejuvenation an operated it for decades with 6 small residences. L.D. Russo helped the YWCA acquire funding and then perform a full historic renovation and addition to this building. Working with local architect Andrew Sidford, the exterior was restored to it’s former glory with restoration of key details, preservation of the slate roof, and an addition that expanded the building to 10 deeply affordable rental units. The project received recognition from the Newburyport Historic Commission for the quality of the completed work.
