The Waring School
Project year: 2021
Location: Beverly, MA
As described by Opal Architects “designed as a bridge for campus, Waring’s new school building encourages connection both literally and figuratively”. Considered to be the first Passive House (PHI) school building in Massachusetts, this 12,700 s.f. contemporary space replaced an antiquated barn with flooding issues with a fully modern and inspirational campus centerpiece.
The design by OPAL Architects received several Awards including AIA Maine 2023 Honor Award, and the Passive House Network’s 2023 Climate Design Award.
